Officers from British Transport Police (BTP) hope the pictured man can help them with inquiries into the theft,air jordan 1 retro 99 sale, on Friday, 30 August.
Pc David Burns, the investigating officer, said: "The victim, a 35 year old woman, was sat on a seat on platform one at the station waiting for her train to arrive at around 5.15pm, with her bag on the seat next to her.
"The footage then shows him putting his coat down and moving seats to the other side of the bag. He then covers the bag with his coat before picking it backup with the bag underneath and leaving the station.
"The man then returns ten minutes later and gets on a Metro train to Pelaw,online air jordan 1 retro for sale, where he changes and travels to Tyne Dock before leaving the train and walking out of the station.
After reviewing CCTV footage from the station, officers would like to speak to the man pictured in connection with this incident.
Pc Burns added: "We believe the man pictured may be able to help us with our enquiries into this crime and I would ask anyone who recognises him, or knows his current whereabouts, to please get in touch."
